Engine & Transmission

This 1964 Ford Ranchero is powered by a John Kasse-built engine producing an incredible 1,200 horsepower. The setup features twin turbochargers mounted in the bed, designed to eliminate lag by running without intercoolers, allowing boost to be instantly available. Power is transferred through a two-speed Powerglide transmission, built to handle the extreme output while maintaining durability and performance. A custom stainless exhaust system completes the drivetrain, delivering both performance efficiency and an aggressive sound.

Chassis

The Ranchero rides on a Mustang II front suspension paired with a four-link rear setup, providing improved geometry and stability under high performance conditions. An AccuAir suspension system allows adjustable ride height and drivability, blending show-quality stance with functional performance. Braking is handled by Baer disc brakes at both the front and rear, ensuring confident stopping power to match the vehicle’s horsepower.

Body Modifications

Extensive body refinements were performed to create a clean, modernized appearance while supporting the high-performance package. The tailgate was shaved and replaced with a custom roll pan incorporating integrated exhaust outlets. A fully custom bed was fabricated to house the twin turbo system, making the performance components a visual centerpiece. Additional modifications include Matt Hotch gas caps, custom door handles, a one-off grille, shaved front and rear bumpers, and comprehensive body smoothing throughout for a seamless finish.

Paint

The exterior is finished using AkzoNobel’s Modern Classikk paint system in the color Sweet and Sour, applied to highlight the Ranchero’s custom bodywork and bold performance character while maintaining a refined show-quality finish.

Interior

The interior was completed by JS Custom Interiors and blends performance styling with modern comfort. Modified 2004 Mustang seats were cut down to fit the cabin while maintaining support and proportion. A Billet Specialties steering wheel is paired with an Ididit tilt steering column for improved driving ergonomics. Dakota Digital HDX gauges provide a modern instrument display, while Vibromat 2mm insulation reduces heat and noise inside the cabin. Vintage Air climate control adds modern A/C and heat functionality for improved drivability.

Wheels & Tires

The Ranchero rides on Billet Specialties Pinnacle wheels measuring 18x7 in the front and 20x15 in the rear, giving the truck an aggressive performance stance. Mickey Thompson tires sized 26x8x18 up front and 21x18x20 in the rear provide the traction needed to manage the vehicle’s extreme power output.
