Beneath the iconic fiberglass body is a modern Art Morrison chassis engineered to dramatically improve drivability and performance. Independent suspension at all four corners provides precise handling and ride quality far beyond the capabilities of the original platform. Four-wheel disc brakes with red calipers deliver confident stopping power, while the finished and chrome-detailed undercarriage reflects the same attention to detail found throughout the build. Body Modifications
Over a meticulous 2.5-year build, Dave Kindig and the team at Kindig-It Design transformed this first-generation Corvette into a seamless blend of classic styling and modern craftsmanship. The one-of-one convertible roadster retains the timeless lines that made the 1958 Corvette an American icon while incorporating subtle refinements and modern conveniences. Chrome bumpers and exterior trim were expertly restored by Ogden Chrome, bringing brilliant contrast to the elegant two-tone finish. A removable hardtop offers the versatility of both open-air cruising and coupe-like styling, making this custom Corvette equally stunning with or without the top installed.
Paint
This Corvette is finished in a striking tuxedo-inspired color combination utilizing Modern Classikk by Kindig paint from AkzoNobel. The body is coated in Black Ice, contrasted by No Strings White coves that accentuate the Corvette's signature side sculpting. The sophisticated two-tone combination highlights the car's iconic design while providing a modern level of depth and finish quality that elevates the entire build.
Interior
The custom extended cabin is wrapped in rich red leather, creating a dramatic contrast to the exterior color scheme. Deep-cushion bucket seats provide exceptional comfort while maintaining the spirit of the original Corvette interior. A red-rimmed Billet Specialties three-spoke steering wheel is mounted to a tilt steering column for improved driving comfort. Modern amenities are seamlessly integrated throughout, including Dakota Digital vintage-style analog gauges, Vintage Air climate control with controls housed in the chrome-trimmed center stack, power windows, and a custom Bluetooth audio system. Every detail was carefully considered to preserve the character of the original Corvette while delivering the comfort and convenience expected from a modern custom build.
Wheels & Tires
Vintage-inspired custom polished alloy wheels provide the perfect finishing touch, blending classic Corvette styling cues with contemporary construction. Schott alloy wheels feature knock-off-style spinners and are wrapped in Michelin performance tires, delivering modern grip and handling while maintaining the timeless appearance of a period-correct roadster. The combination complements the Corvette's elegant design while ensuring the performance capabilities match its aggressive stance.
